Mauritius Golf Federation
New structure MGF
The Mauritius Golf Federation exists since 1944 and is now fully compliant with the Sports Act of the Ministry of Youth and Sports which allows us to function with a minimum of 3 combined regions and 6 clubs. Hence there are 3 combined regions with 7 regional clubs/unions as follows :
- Region A --Vacoas/ Curepipe with two unions : Les Casernes Curepipe Golf Union and Clairfonds Vacoas Golf Union
- Region B --- Port-Louis/ Riviere du Rempart/ Flacq with 2 unions : Bon Espoir Piton Golf Union and Port-Louis City Golf Club
- Region C --- Black River/ Savanne with 3 unions : Black River Golf Association , Tamarin Golf Club and Le Morne Golf Union
Regional elections have now been completed at the end of November and the following members are presidents of the various golf unions:
Dr Rajat Goswamy -- Les Casernes Curepipe Golf Union
Mr Billy Narraina ----Clairfonds Vacoas Golf Union
Mr Gavin Minkley ---- Port-Louis City Golf Club
Christophe Cure ------ Tamarin Golf Club
Nanda Isram ------------ Le Morne Golf Union
Clement Cure----- Bon Espoir Piton Golf Union
Basantee Ramlackhan – Black River Golf association
The eleven designated members to sit on the Managing committee 2013-2017 are :
Patrick Chui Wan Cheong, Billy Narraina, Christophe Cure, Daryl Ciszmadia, Jean Noel Lennon, Christian Ip, Balah Chinnaya, Ravin Chunivan, Yannick Merven, Luc Bax, Basantee Ramlackhan.
The above members will meet at the Annual General Assembly in January 2013 and will elect the office bearers for the next four years.
