The best golf course designed by Ernie Els. Set between land and sea, Ernie Els’ challenging golf course is a 6 828 meter, 18-hole, par-72 championship course with large fairways and five sets of tees. Built to USGA standards, it is the first of its kind in Mauritius.

Six stunning ocean front holes culminate in a final shot that is among the most spectacular in the world. Carefully woven into the tropical sanctuary, the course is set against lush mountains and fringed by a vast crystal-clear lagoon.

Anahita is also home to the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open which is an official tri-sanctioned Order of Merit event on the Sunshine Tour, European Tour and the Asian Tour. This event takes place at Anahita Golf Course every other year.

Avalon Golf Estate

The Avalon Golf Estate is located in the Bois Cheri region of Mauritius, set on the volcanic slopes of the dormant Grand Bassin volcano, more than 300m above sea level. The views of the southern coastline are simply unprecedented and, on a clear day, the ocean is visible from all 18 holes.

The elevated nature of this 18-hole championship golf course designed by Peter Matkovich, means that low clouds and cooler, breezy conditions are often to be expected. This was incorporated into the course’s design, with Matkovich creating a perfect balance of holes playing both with and against prevailing winds. Very few trees line the course, adding to its feeling of openness and playability, while numerous Tree ferns supplement the local flora and add a soft theme to the unique layout.

The risk-and-reward par four fourth is the course’s signature hole, and for good reason. From an elevated tee, a river cuts across the start of the fairway below, with a small pot bunker peeking out from the left. Thick natural vegetation line the fairway’s left flank, while the right side consists of a slightly more forgiving steep hill. At only 238 metres long, the green is well within range for most players, but so is a lot of the surrounding danger.

Azuri - The Nine

TThe spectacular new 9 hole course at Azuri Ocean and Golf Village on the North East coast of Mauritius, offers golfers of all skill levels an exciting, enjoyable and demanding test of golf. Designed by IMG, the world class short course has holes ranging in length from 119 yards to 198 yards, and is a real challenge given the ever present sea breeze, large undulating greens, strategically placed bunkers and dramatic elevation changes. With 3 tee locations on each hole and well contoured greens, the course offers wonderful variety, unlimited challenges and takes a great deal of skill and strategic planning to play it well.

The course has 9 outstanding golf holes, that maximize the site’s natural features, with each hole offering a different playing experience. The first 4 holes play alongside a stunning river, with holes 5 to 8 changing direction across the magnificent landscape. The 9th plays back towards the clubhouse and is an incredible final hole that is guaranteed to inspire golfers to return. Requiring a tee shot across water to an island green, the hole measures 147 yards, and is destined to become the most spectacular finishing hole in Mauritius.

In 1950, the private Dodo Club created its own 9 holes golf course for the attention of its members, mainly Mauritian. Located in the centre of Mauritius, in Curepipe, the location of the Dodo Club is ideal for local players.

In a setting typical from Mauritius, the Dodo Club Golf Course is quite technical! Wooded and rolling, this golf course in Mauritius allows golfers of all levels to improve their game.

Beware nonetheless, the Dodo Club only accept players with an handicap!

A relatively short but challenging 18-hole golf course.

Even though it is a relatively short course it offers great challenges to the players as it is very tight and thus precision and technical shots are called for. 

However, it is playable and enjoyable by golfers of all levels. The course comprises six holes of par 3, two holes of par 5 and ten holes of par 4.  The course can be compared to the famous St Andrews in Scotland, in as much as it is a natural course. 

Built in 1902 by the British army, this course has been visited, played and appreciated by many top professional and famous international golfers such as Gary Player and Nick Faldo and most recently Jean Van De Velde from France.

Legend – Constance Belle Mare

Opened in 1994, Constance Belle Mare Plage’s first championship golf course, the Legend golf course is set along one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius.

It was designed by the South African Champion, Hugh Baiocchi, melding into the exceptional and wild surroundings.

This 18-hole course on the Indian Ocean features lagoons and lakes at every hole and dense, natural vegetation. Each of the 18 holes has distinctive characteristics and the superb fairways are laid in the heart of an indigenous forest, with brand new greens built to USPGA specifications.

Teeing off at the Par 3-17th hole is a feast for the eyes and a test for the nerves: this championship course is set in the midst of a naturally beautiful site originally intended for deer breeding.

The Legend golf course hosted The Mauritius Golf Open from 1992 to 2008. Since 2009, Constance Belle Mare Plage joined the European Senior Tour, now called the Staysure Tour in collaboration with the Mauritius Commercial Bank. It hosts one of the main events of the Staysure Tour calendar, the MCB Tour Championship every December – an annual rendezvous for elite professional golf players and amateurs.

The Links golf course was opened in 2002 and is the newest of the two golf courses at Constance Belle Mare Plage. It is located just a 5-minute transfer from the resort.

Perfectly in tune with nature, the golf course was designed by Golf Architect Rodney Wright and the legendary Golf Professional Peter Alliss and provides quite a different test to the Legend golf course.

This 18-hole championship golf course is set in a location which seems to have been naturally created for the purpose, laid out across beautiful undulating terrain, with raised tee-boxes and greens. The use of golf buggies is mandatory due to its undulating nature. 

It also has a Golf Academy offering coaching on the course by professional and qualified golf instructors for a full golfing experience. The teaching method includes: grip, posture, alignment, ball position, on course strategy, how to lower handicap, and short game experience.
